As part of the ten-year anniversary celebration, Eva’s Heroes presented the “See Us, Hear Us, Know Us,” a traveling photography exhibition featuring portraits and stories of 59 of Eva’s Heroes participants.
In addition to the individual portraits by photographer David Teran, the exhibit included an audio component that expands on each participant’s life: his or her life goals, hobbies, and why he or she loves Eva’s Heroes. Companies and organizations hosted the traveling photography exhibit at 45 locations from April ― December in 2016, and its final stop was the Texas Capitol in January.
The exhibit was seen by more than 820,000 people. The exhibit and its corresponding audio narratives, produced by Larry Servin, demonstrates to a broader community the everyday successes and dreams of teens and young adults with intellectual special needs and disabilities.
